Term of Use

1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

Your access to and use of Ministry of Renovation Pte Ltd (‘the Website”) and/or (“mobile apps”) and the Services outlined in the next Clause are subject exclusively to the Terms of Use. By using the Website/ mobile apps /Services, you are fully accepting the terms, conditions, and disclaimers contained in this notice. If you do not accept these terms of use, you must immediately stop using the Website/ mobile apps /Services.

Ministry of Renovation Pte Ltd reserves the right to updates or amend these Terms of use at any time without notice and your continued use of the Website/ mobile apps /Services following any changes shall be deemed to be your acceptance of such change. It is, therefore, your responsibility to check the Terms of Use regularly for any changes.

The Website/ mobile apps /Services is owned and operated by the Ministry of Renovation Pte Ltd and the company together with its owners, agent, employees, and directors are collectively referred to in this agreement as to the “company”.

2. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE AND DEFINITIONS

Ministry of Renovation Pte Ltd (MOR) provides members with access to a community of information sharing including reviews, events, announcements, and marketplace (“the Services”). Unless explicitly stated otherwise, any new features that augment and/or enhance the current Services, including the release of new MOR resources, shall be subject to the Terms of Use. "www.mor.sg" and/or “ministry of renovation mobile apps” means MOR.

3. PERSONAL AND NON-COMMERCIAL USE LIMITATION

The content of the Website/ mobile apps /Services do not constitute advice and should not be relied upon marketing or refraining from making any decision.

Unless otherwise authorized by MOR, this Website/ mobile apps /Services is strictly for your personal and non-commercial use. You are strictly not allowed to copy, modify, distribute, transmit, display, perform, reproduce, publish, license, create derivative works from, transfer, or sell any information, software, products, or services obtained from, or through, this website.

4. MEMBER CONDUCT IN PORTAL (Website/ mobile apps /Services)

As a condition of your use of this Website/ mobile apps /Services (www.mor.sg) and/ or (mobile apps), you warrant to www.mor.sg and/ or mobile apps that you will not use this Website/ mobile apps /Services for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these terms, conditions, and notices.

You agree to use the Communities only to send and receive messages and material that are proper and related to the particular subject. By way of example, and not as a limitation, you agree that when using a Community, you WILL NOT:

 
(a) Post Advertising & Promotional Contents

All posts or account names and signatures containing advertising, soliciting, and promotion contents in nature are not allowed in all of www.mor.sg website except under Industry Panel. They will be removed with/without prior warning by our Moderators/Administrators. MOR aims to build a knowledge base of valuable information contributed by our community. Parties who are interested in reaching out to our community should contact our sales department. Our sales executives will help you to work out an effective marketing campaign best suited for your needs.

(b) Badmouthing, Slandering, and Personal Attacks

While MOR allows members to share their experiences, MOR will not tolerate companies, agencies (or anyone with personal agenda) badmouthing/ defaming other companies. If found guilty, the party will be blacklisted and banned immediately. Personal attacks/flaming on fellow companies, consultants, and their businesses, moderators, or staff at MOR will not be tolerated.

 
(c) Publish, post, upload, distribute or disseminate any inappropriate, profane, defamatory, infringing, obscene, indecent, or unlawful topic, name, material, or information.

 
Examples of non-acceptable content or links:

i) Pirated software

ii) MP3s

iii) Hackers programs or archives

iv) Warez Sites

v) Pornography images / videos / URL links

vi) Spamming Software

vii) Serial numbers, cracks, or anything related to the piracy of software

viii) Vulgarity

(d) Advertise (direct or indirect) or offer to sell any goods or services for any commercial purpose without MOR permission.

(e) Impersonate as a customer giving fictitious feedback or impersonate any person or entity, including but not limited to, a www.mor.sg / mor mobile apps official, moderator, admin, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.

(f) Defame, abuse, harass, stalk, threaten, or otherwise violate the legal rights (such as rights of privacy and publicity) of others.

(g) Upload files that contain software or other material protected by intellectual property laws (or by rights of privacy of publicity) unless you own or control the rights thereto or have received all necessary consents.

(h) Upload, post or otherwise transmit any Content that infringes any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other proprietary rights of any party.

(i) Upload files that contain viruses, corrupted files, or any other similar software or programs that may damage the operation of another computer.

(j) Upload, post or otherwise transmit any Content that you do not have a right to transmit under any law or contractual or fiduciary relationships (such as inside information, proprietary and confidential information learned or disclosed as part of employment relationships or under nondisclosure agreements);

(k) Conduct or forward surveys, contests, pyramid schemes, or chain letters.

(l) Download any file posted by another user of a Review that you know, or reasonably should know, cannot be legally distributed in such manner.

(m) Falsify or delete any author attributions, legal or other proper notices or proprietary designations, or labels of the origin or source of software or other material contained in a file that is uploaded.

(n) Restrict or inhibit any other user from using and enjoying the Communities.

(o) Promote or provide instructional information about illegal activities, promote physical harm or injury against any group or individual, or promote any act of cruelty to animals. This may include, but is not limited to, providing instructions on how to assemble bombs, grenades, and other weapons, and creating "Crush" sites.

(p) Stalk or otherwise harass another.

(q) Collect or store personal data about other users.

(r) Use any device, software, or routine to interfere or attempt to interfere with the proper working of the Website/ mobile apps /Services.

(s) Create multiple user accounts and posing as a consumer to give false experiences with a company or business.

(t) Soliciting or spam the Private Messaging System (PM) or in the reviews.

(u) Post threads or start topics that are religious, political, and racist.

(v) Intentionally post false information to mislead other MOR members.

Repeated offence by any member will be deemed as an act of purpose in violation of our Terms of Use and Ministry of Renovation Pte Ltd reserves the right to ban offenders from using these reviews without prior notice. As such, cases may be handed over to the police for further investigation.

5. INDEMNITY

(a) You agree to indemnify and hold MOR, its officials, owner, administrators, and moderators harmless from any claims, demands, or other liabilities, including legal fees and costs, that are made by any third parties due to or arising from your use of the Website/ mobile apps /Services or Your breach of these Terms and Conditions. If you post material on the Website/ mobile apps /Services, you may prompt third parties into making statements about you that may be defamatory or offensive, even though your postings may be unobjectionable. You agree not to respond in kind, but to bring these statements to the attention of the Moderators and Administrators. By posting on MOR you are agreeing to hold MOR, its officials, owner, administrators, and moderators harmless and release MOR from all claims, demands, or other liabilities for any statements or material concerning you that are posted on the site by third parties, including by moderators and other volunteers, provided that MOR avail you with the opportunity to answer.

(b) You agree to hold full responsibility for yourself upon engaging any vendor/company/contractors in MOR Website/ mobile apps /Services at your own risk at all times. MOR will not be responsible and/or liable for any act and/or interfere with any relationship between user and companies in the event of a dispute and/or quarrel and/or compensation and etc…

(c) You acknowledge that MOR is purely providing a directory of renovation vendors to assist you with your renovation works, any dispute, payment, quality of material, workmanship, services, pricing or any works relating to this renovation works will have nothing to do with MOR. Hence, MOR is not responsible for the renovation works conduct between both consumer/user and vendor/company/contractors.

(d) You acknowledged and allowed MOR to collect, use, advertise your company images and/or videos and/or texts and/or any form of information given by your company for MOR marketing purposes.

6. ACCESS

(a) MOR retains the right to access to anyone account who MOR believes has violated the term of this agreement, or to anyone else for any reasons, which MOR need not disclose, or for no reason.

(b) MOR holds the right to remove/suspend / block / delete consumer/user account without any reason given if MOR suspects either this consumer/user or vendor/company/contractors have violated the terms of this agreement in the MOR portal (Website and mobile apps).

7. LINK TO OTHER WEBSITES

This website contains hyperlinks to other websites which are not maintained by MOR. MOR will not be liable for any damages resulting from access to those websites. Usage of the hyperlinks is entirely at the user's own risk.

8. SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS

MOR is not liable for any errors or interruption in service, whether within or outside of our control. The user and vendor understand that service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, power interruptions, or any other unexpected causes.

9. MATERIAL COPYRIGHT & TRADEMARKS

All users and vendors may not republish any part of the content/material available on the Website/ mobile apps /Services either as part of any commercial service or for personal use without the prior “written permission” of MOR and its providers. Materials on this site, including, without limitation, names, logos, trademarks, service marks, images, articles, columns, graphics, photographs, illustrations, artwork, audio clips, video clips, software, and other elements making up the service are protected by copyrights and other intellectual property rights owned and controlled by MOR or by other parties that have licensed their material to the Website/ mobile apps /Services.

Ministry of Renovation and other MOR logos and product and service names are trademarks of MOR’s company. All other trademarks appearing on the site are trademarks of their respective owners and our reference to them does not imply or indicate any approval or endorsement by their owners unless such approval or endorsement is expressly made. It is understood that MOR is an information and service site and that references to other names and trademarks are necessary for the course of providing downloads, news, and commentary about the subjects that this site covers. MOR will enforce its intellectual property rights to the fullest extent of the law.

10.  DISCLAIMER

(a) The sole purpose of this website is to provide an information-sharing website to the general public allowing the public to reach out to companies within fingertips. Ministry of Renovation Pte Ltd does not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any message, makes no warranty of any kind, and are not responsible for the contents of any message including defamatory, offensive, or illegal conduct of any author posting to this review or comment.

 
(b) All communications made in the review and any opinions, advice, views, statements the views, or other information expressed in this portal or site are those of the author and do not necessarily represent the views of www.mor.sg and/or mobile apps.

(c) MOR accept no responsibility for any losses, monetary or otherwise, incurred as a result of reliance whatsoever of such information and will not be liable for any damages of any kind arising from the use of this site, including, but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, and consequential damages for both consumer/user and vendor/company/contractors. Hence, MOR is not responsible for any cheating or insurance or rebate or discount in the event of any kind of a dispute between both consumer/user and vendor/company/contractors or any court case matter.

(d) The insurance checkbox that users check on in the service directory page refers to “public liability insurance”. This does not include any other insurance by the companies.

(e) MOR does not guarantee/ warranty the consumer/ user that the vendor/ company/ contractors in the Website/ mobile apps /Services are providing good services or price or workmanship. Consumer/ user is recommended to do their own due diligence background check on the respective vendor/ company/ contractors with government authority before engagement or make any payment for security reasons.

MOR does not hold responsibility for any liability for any Review or any claims, damages, or losses resulting from any use of the Site/ apps, or the materials contained therein.

(f) Companies and personnel will be solely responsible for the content they send to us to be put on this site. Neither MOR nor our service providers will be liable for any inaccuracy or errors in the content, or any actions taken in reliance thereon.

(g) For any misbehave / misconduct of behaviour for both consumer/ user and vendor/ company/ contractors in MOR Website/ mobile apps /Services, especially in review page causing either party to defame/ tarnish/ damage in reputation/ personal damage will be removed from MOR Website/ mobile apps /Services immediately and the case will be handed over to the police for further investigation.

(h) In its sole discretion, MOR reserves the right to reject post or remove any Review. All Ratings and Reviews of a Service Provider displayed to you reflect the opinions of other consumers. It does not reflect or represent the opinions or representations of MOR. MOR disclaims any and all representations or warranties with regard to Ratings and Reviews.

Reviews do not reflect the views of MOR, its parent, subsidiary, or affiliated companies, or its employees, officers, directors, or shareholders.

Furthermore, the reviewer acknowledges to let MOR contact the Service Provider about his or her work request. If a dispute arises between a consumer and Service Provider, the rating submitted may be held in pending status until resolution is reached. MOR does not hold responsibility for any liability for any Review or any claims, damages, or losses resulting from any use of the Site /apps, or the materials contained therein.

(i) MOR has the right to send in both mystery consumer/ user and vendor/ company/ contractors to check the system if it is the correct algorithm for MOR Website/ mobile apps /Services.

(j) By submitting your enquiry, you agree that Ministry of Renovation Pte Ltd (MOR), and its appointed vender/ companies/ contractors:

I. To contact you to understand and provide you with quotation, to the contact number and data you have provided, and

II. To collect, use, store and disclose your personal data, which you have provided in this enquiry form, in accordance with Ministry of Renovation Pte Ltd.’s Privacy Policy, and for MOR use for other marketing purposes.

(k) Consumer/ user is recommended to make payment in pro-rated method to the vendor/ company/ contractors for security reasons.

MOR reserves the right to revise, withdraw or make changes to these terms of use and conditions of the Site, in whole or in part, at any time with/without notice. All such revisions, withdrawals, and/or changes shall automatically be effective once they are posted on the Site.

Personal Data Protection Policy

This Data Protection Notice (“Notice”) sets out the basis which Ministry of Renovation Pte Ltd. (MOR) we may collect, use, disclose or otherwise process personal data of our customers in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act (“PDPA”). This Notice applies to personal data in our possession or under our control, including personal data in the possession of organisations which we have engaged to collect, use, disclose or process personal data for our purposes. This privacy policy is intended to assist you in understanding what information we gather about you when you visit this website and how we use that information, and the safeguards we have in place for that information.

1. PERSONAL DATA

(a) As used in this Notice:

“customer” means an individual who (a) has contacted us through any means to find out more about any goods or services we provide, or (b) may, or has, entered into a contract with us for the supply of any goods or services by us; and

“personal data” means data, whether true or not, about a customer who can be identified: (a) from that data; or (b) from that data and other information to which we have or are likely to have access.

(b) Depending on the nature of your interaction with us, some examples of personal data which we may collect from you include your name and identification information such as your NRIC number, contact information such as your address, email address or telephone number, mobile number, age, nationality, gender, date of birth, marital status, photographs, and other audio-visual information and financial information such as credit card numbers, debit card numbers or bank account information when you establish or update a Ministry Of Renovation Pte Ltd account, enter a contest, participate in a survey, check the status of a reservation, or if you sign up to receive information, promotions, and events through email or phone, etc. MOR may also collect and store comments, reviews, images, other uploaded content, questions and answers, discussion area posts, and other messages, including correspondence between the Ministry of Renovation Pte Ltd and you.

(c) Other terms used in this Notice shall have the meanings given to them in the PDPA (where the context so permits).

2. COLLECTION, USE, AND DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL DATA

(a) We generally do not collect your data unless (a) it is provided to us voluntarily by you directly or via a third-party who has been duly authorised by you to disclose your data to us (your “authorised representative”) after (i) you (or your authorised representative) have been notified of the purposes for which the data is collected and (ii) you (or your authorised representative) have provided written consent to the collection and usage of your data for those purposes, or (b) collection and use of data without consent is permitted or required by the PDPA or other laws. We shall seek your consent before collecting any additional personal data and before using your data for a purpose that has not been notified to you (except where permitted or authorised by law).

(b) We may collect and use your data for any or all of the following purposes:
 

(i) performing obligations in the course of or in connection with our companies/provision of the goods and/or services requested by you;

(ii) verifying your identity and contact you in the event of any difficulties;

(iii) responding to, handling, and processing queries, requests, applications, complaints, and feedback from you;

(iv) managing your relationship with us;

(v) processing payment or credit transactions;

(vi) sending your marketing information about our goods or services including notifying you of our marketing events, initiatives and promotions, lucky draws, membership and rewards schemes, and other promotions, including adding you to the Ministry of Renovation Pte Ltd E-mail list.;

(vii) complying with any applicable laws, regulations, codes of practice, guidelines, or rules, or to assist in law enforcement and investigations conducted by any governmental and/or regulatory authority;

(viii) any other purposes for which you have provided the information;

(ix) transmitting to any unaffiliated third parties including our third-party service providers and agents, and relevant governmental and/or regulatory authorities, whether in Singapore or abroad, for the aforementioned purposes; and

(x) any other incidental business purposes related to or in connection with the above.

(c) We may disclose your data:

(i) where such disclosure is required for performing obligations in the course of or in connection with our provision of the goods or services requested by you; or

(ii) to third-party service providers, agents, and other organisations we have engaged to perform any of the functions listed in clause 5 above for us.

(iii) to help us provide services such as responding to enquiries, fulfilling reservations, monitoring site activity, conducting surveys, maintaining our database, administering and monitoring e-mails, administering and sending text messages, and sending useful information to users.

(d) The purposes listed in the above clauses may continue to apply even in situations where your relationship with us (for example, under a contract) has been terminated or altered in any way, for a reasonable period thereafter (including, where applicable, a period to enable us to enforce our rights under any contract with you).

3. WITHDRAWING YOUR CONSENT

(a) The consent that you provide for the collection, use, and disclosure of your data will remain valid until such time it is being withdrawn by you in writing. You may withdraw consent and request us to stop using and/or disclosing your data for any or all of the purposes listed above by submitting your request in writing or via email to our Data Protection Officer at the contact details provided below.

(b) Upon receipt of your written request to withdraw your consent, we may require a reasonable time (depending on the complexity of the request and its impact on our relationship with you) for your request to be processed and for us to notify you of the consequences of us acceding to the same, including any legal consequences which may affect your rights and liabilities to us. In general, we shall seek to process your request within ten (10) business days of receiving it.

(c) While we respect your decision to withdraw your consent, please note that depending on the nature and scope of your request, we may not be in a position to continue providing our goods or services to you and we shall, in such circumstances, notify you before completing the processing of your request. Should you decide to cancel your withdrawal of consent, please inform us in writing in the manner described in clause 8 above.

(d) Please note that withdrawing consent does not affect our right to continue to collect, use and disclose personal data where such collection, use, and disclosure without consent is permitted or required under applicable laws.

4. ACCESS TO AND CORRECTION OF PERSONAL DATA

(a) If you wish to make (a) an access request for access to a copy of the personal data which we hold about you or information about how we use or disclose your data, or (b) a correction request to correct or update any of your data which we hold about you, you may submit your request in writing or via email to our Data Protection Officer at the contact details provided below. We prefer to keep your personal information accurate and up-to-date. To achieve this, we provide you with the opportunity to update or modify your personal information by logging into your account.

(b) Please note that an admin fee of SGD 500 may be charged for an access request. If so, we will inform you of the fee before processing your request.

(c) We will respond to your request as soon as reasonably possible. Should we not be able to respond to your request within thirty (30) days after receiving your request, we will inform you in writing within thirty (30) days of the time by which we will be able to respond to your request. If we are unable to provide you with any personal data or to make a correction requested by you, we shall generally inform you of the reasons why we are unable to do so (except where we are not required to do so under the PDPA).

5. PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA

(a) To safeguard your data from unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal, or similar risks, we have introduced appropriate administrative, physical, and technical measures such as up-to-date antivirus protection, encryption, and the use of privacy filters to secure all storage and transmission of personal data by us and disclosing personal data both internally and to our authorised third-party service providers and agents only on a need-to-know basis.

(b) You should be aware, however, that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. While security cannot be guaranteed, we strive to protect the security of your information and are constantly reviewing and enhancing our information security measures.

6. IMPLEMENTATION OF SAFETY MEASURES

(a) Ministry of Renovation Pte Ltd takes the following types of security measures: use of technologies and policies such as limited access data-centres, firewall technology, secure socket layer certificate authentication, and limitations of administrative access to our systems.

7. ACCURACY OF PERSONAL DATA

(a) We generally rely on personal data provided by you (or your authorised representative). To ensure that your data is current, complete, and accurate, please update us if there are changes to your data by informing our Data Protection Officer in writing or via email at the contact details provided below.

8. RETENTION OF PERSONAL DATA

(a) We may retain your data for as long as it is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or as required or permitted by applicable laws.

(b) We will cease to retain your data or remove how the data can be associated with you, as soon as it is reasonable to assume that such retention no longer serves the purpose for which the personal data was collected, and is no longer necessary for legal or business purposes.

9. TRANSFERS OF PERSONAL DATA OUTSIDE OF SINGAPORE

(a) We generally do not transfer your data to countries outside of Singapore. However, if we do so, we will obtain your consent for the transfer to be made and we will take steps to ensure that your data continues to receive a standard of protection that is at least comparable to that provided under the PDPA.

10. LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES AND SERVICES

(b) Our Web site may contain links to other sites. Links that appear on Ministry Of Renovation Pte Ltd should not necessarily be deemed to imply that we endorse or have any affiliation with the linked Web sites. Ministry Of Renovation Pte Ltd is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such linked Web sites. We encourage you to review the separate privacy policies of each site you visit.

12. EFFECT OF NOTICE AND CHANGES TO NOTICE

(a) This Notice applies in conjunction with any other notices, contractual clauses, and consent clauses that apply concerning the collection, use, and disclosure of your data by us.

(b) We may revise this Notice from time to time without any prior notice. You may determine if any such revision has taken place by referring to the date on which this Notice was last updated. Your continued use of our services constitutes your acknowledgment and acceptance of such changes.
